Singer Beyonce Knowles has topped a new fan poll to find the world’s greatest pop star.

Over 100,000 British fans voted in Rimmel London’s World’s Greatest Pop Stars contest, selecting the singer as the new Queen of Pop.

She pipped nine other contenders, including Britney Spears and Madonna, and was announced as the winner at a live concert at London’s Earls Court.

Shilpa Shetty eager to start her family

Just days after her grand wedding with London based business tycoon Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty is on the seventh heaven.

The actress is simply elated by the fact that, “Thank God, I plan to get married only once! This has been the most exhausting week of my life. And also the happiest. I’ve waited so long for my wedding. Outwardly, the only thing that’s different is the choodas, and the way I’m dressed. Inside me, everything feels the same. I’ve known Raj for so long that it feels no different otherwise,” said a candid Shilpa.

Mention motherhood and the actress blushes and says, “Oh yes! I certainly want to be a mother. I can’t wait to start our family.”

Speaking on her fabulous wedding and reception, the petite actress continued, “I have a severe jaw ache from all the smiling at the reception. Now I know why my colleagues avoid wedding receptions! It really does get impossible to manage the entire crowd,” she adds. Apparently, there were more gatecrashers at the reception than guests. “At the wedding too, there were people climbing trees and walls to take photographs.”

“But it was a far more intimate, private and controlled affair than the reception. Shamita kept saying that she felt she was part of a Punjabi wedding sequence from a movie!”

When asked where does Mrs Shilpa Kundra plan to reside, in Mumbai or in London? “I have to get acquainted with Raj’s circle of friends in London, get used to socialising with them Yes, we’ll have two homes now. In any case, I was always travelling to and fro. Now I’ll be doing this even more! I have my film-production company in Mumbai. So I can’t be in London only”, said the actress.

Kate Winslet declared Best Actress at Bambi Awards

British actress Kate Winslet has been named the best international actress at this year’s Bambi Awards in Germany.

34 year old, Winslet had been awarded the prize for her role in ‘The Reader’, in which she had played a German woman with a secret Nazi past.

“Ever since we made The Reader I’m always trying to find ways to come back - it was special”, said Winslet, who shot the movie in Germany.

The actress struggled to hold up the solid bronze and 18-carat gold trophy she was presented with at the ceremony.

“This is very heavy, so I’m going to put this down,” she laughingly said.

The annual Bambi Awards acknowledge achievement in film, television, music and sports, and the panel praised her as “an actress who doesn’t just slip into her roles but rather puts herself into the soul of her roles”.

It looks like Kate Moss is among those who get all melancholy after a bust up with their flames - she had a gala time without boyfriend Jamie Hince at Take That’s SingStar party.

Jennifer Lopez has laughed off her embarrassing ‘rear-flashing’ onstage stumble at the American Music Awards, claiming that it was part of her choreographed routine.

The ‘Maid in Manhattan’ star made her performance comeback on Sunday night, singing Louboutins from her new album ‘Love?’, but slipped up during a misstep at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

After strutting onto a stage converted into a boxing ring in a robe and gloves, Lopez gyrated with male dancers.

However, much to her misfortune, when the singer climbed onto a human pyramid of half-naked performers and jumped down, she slipped backwards onto her bottom, flashing a glimpse of her underwear.

But being a pro, Lopez swiftly leaped to her feet and carried on her performance.

And when asked about the blunder during a radio interview on Monday morning, Lopez had already forgotten about it.

"Did I trip a little bit? I don’t even remember. I meant to do that. It was part of the choreography”, said Lopez jokingly.

And she chuckled as she called on her critics to remember how well she recovered from the mishap.

"The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it’s how you handle it when you fall,” she said.

Victoria Beckham declared Most Unhealthy Role Model

Victoria Beckham has been named the ‘Most Unhealthy Role Model’ of the past 50 years by fitness experts.

Experts claim that it looks like the mum of three stays stick-thin by eating too little.

"She has taken calorie restriction to new extremes”, said Personal trainer Ged Musto.

"Her size is achieved by lack of nutrients and too much exercising. She’s a poor role model," Musto added.

Meanwhile, pop princess Kylie Minogue was named top role model in the poll of more than 50 experts.

One expert said: "She never has that grey and haggard look you get if you don’t eat enough."

Taylor Swift donates $20,800 to British charity

Country pop star Taylor Swift has donated 20,800 dollars in charity to help the underprivileged children in Britain.

The 19 year old crooned her hit number Love Story at the BBC’s Children In Need fundraising event in London last week and donated a sizeable share of the proceeds to help the cause.

The show, which was aired on TV, also saw stars like Sir Paul McCartney and British boyband Take That performing.

Cheryl Cole accused for misleading L’Oreal ad

Cheryl Cole recently did an advert for L’Oreal but the viewers have accused the X Factor judge of misleading them.

Cole, 26, appears in a television ad in which she sings the praises of L’Oreal Elvive Full Restore 5, a shampoo and conditioner range.

Thirteen viewers have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the commercial because Cole wears hair extensions.

The authority has rejected the claims as a message is shown during the advert, which says that Cole’s hair is "styled with some natural extensions".

"A problem would only arise if the ad did not make clear that she is wearing these extensions. It is also worth noting that the hair extensions are made from natural hair and have been treated with the products being advertised”, said a watchdog.

However, Cole’s hairdresser Julien Guyonnet has revealed that she uses artificial fibre extensions because the glue used for natural ones was damaging her hair.

He said: "She is very nice and down-to-earth. She didn’t tell me she was doing the adverts. She used to use human hair but the glue damaged her hair. Of course, she may have used human hair for a photoshoot depending on the hairdresser on the shoot and what company it was for."

A L’Oreal spokesperson said she did not know whether Cole used artificial extensions, but added: "Cheryl has worn hair extensions for some time. They are part of her look and are cared for in the same way as normal hair."

Meanwhile, Cole’s representative said: "L’Oreal are within their rights and the ads are not breaking any rules. We would never comment on what type of hair extensions Cheryl is using because these are quite personal questions."

Sushmita Sen to adopt another girl child

The latest buzz about the bollywood says that actress Sushmita Sen is planning to adopt another girl child. According to sources, Sushmita visited an adoption centre last week and most recently the actress was seen shopping at a baby wear brand outlet in Bandra.

An onlooker said that Sushmita was spotted trying out a baby sling carrier at the store, and was also doing a survey of all the attractive baby stuff on display.

A source says, "She became particularly fond of a newborn but then it was found that the baby was too young."

Grapevine has it that for a long time now, Sush has been willing to provide company to Renee. Sush wants to complete her family with another child, preferably female. She has already made inquiries and begun visiting such centres. The actress is keen that she adopts another baby soon.

British beauty Liz Hurley has tried every trick in the book to retain her svelte figure and her latest attempt is the vodka diet.

Married to Indian entrepreneur Arun Nayar, the 44 year old beauty has confessed how she has been forced to adopt the new dietary plan to keep her famous figure.

The “Bewitched” actress has cut out coffee and wine from her diet and has turned to vodka.

Instead of enjoying a glass of claret when she is at a social gathering, the model and actress has turned to vodka to keep her midriff trim.

"No, I don’t miss having a glass of wine because I’ve switched to vodka. I don’t really like vodka that much but I have a small one with a lot of fizzy water and a huge squeeze of lime. Initially it’s like medicine but I’ve got used to it now," said Hurley.

Hurley, who lives in Gloucestershire with Nayar and seven 7 old son Damian, admitted, "I used to drink an awful lot of coffee, but I was told after the age of 40 you have to be careful with coffee and wine."

Jennifer Lopez sues Ex-Hubby for 10 million dollars

Jennifer Lopez has filed a lawsuit worth 10 million dollars against her ex-husband Ojani Noa for using home videos of her about their short-lived marriage.

The 40 year old actress has made the claim against Noa and another man, Ed Meyer, saying the duo have produced and marketed a proposed film called ‘How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story’.

Lopez also alleges that Meyer sent her attorney an email stating that he had bought from Noa the "exclusive rights" to "11plus hours of previously unseen home video footage" of the ex couple.

Noa was married to the actress-cum-singer between 1997 and 1998 and according to a legally binding settlement he had agreed not to release any information about the former couple’s time as husband and wife.

And now, Lopez’s legal team has issued a cease-and-desist missive demanding that he scrap all his plans for the film.

She filed suit at Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming the terms of their settlement have been broken.

However, Noa has laughed off the threats, insisting his movie is "100 per cent parody" and therefore does not breach the agreement the pair made in 2005.

Lopez, who is married to singer Marc Anthony, is demanding a permanent ban on Noa releasing any footage of her, and wants a whopping 10 million dollars in damages.

Marisa Miller does Harley Davidson campaign

American supermodel Marisa Miller has posed straddling a Harley-Davidson to pay homage to active and retired US military personnel.

The blonde bombshell, who did the advert for the motorbike giant’s first-ever Military Appreciation Month, said she was delighted to support "those who keep us riding free."

"I’m honoured to help the Motor Company salute the brave men and women who keep our country free", said Miller.

She added: "My grandfather is a veteran and I’ve had the unique opportunity to meet several service men and women during recent USO tours, so the military holds a special place in my heart.”

"I hope other Americans will join me and Harley-Davidson in saluting these real life heroes during the month of November."

Harley-Davidson has also announced a competition for the armed forces personnel, which will give them a chance to win a bike personally delivered by Miller.

Harley-Davidson’s director of Advertising and Promotions, Dino Bernacchi, said: "It’s humbling to think of the countless sacrifices these brave men and women - and their families - have made to keep our country free, so the Harley-Davidson family is honoured to partner with Marisa to help salute military personnel this month”.

Marilyn Monroe crypt Auction Fails again

A second attempt to sell a crypt on top of Marilyn Monroe’s final resting place has failed, with not a single bid received for the burial spot in a celebrity-filled Los Angeles cemetery.

Widow Elsie Poncher is trying to sell her husband’s crypt to pay off the mortgage on her Beverly Hills home. On selling the crypt, Poncher had planned to move her husband, who died in 1986, to an adjacent crypt intended for her.

But a $4.6 million bid submitted through online auctioneer eBay Inc in August fell through when the unidentified bidder pulled out.

A second auction on eBay with a reserve price of $500,000 also failed, with a notice on the online trading website saying it had closed with no bids on the marble mausoleum where Monroe was laid to rest in 1962.

The crypt is located at the Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery, home to celebrities including Dean Martin, James Coburn, Roy Orbison, Truman Capote, Natalie Wood, Carl Wilson, Minnie Riperton and recent arrival Farrah Fawcett.

The space next to Monroe’s vault was sold in 1992 to the publisher of Playboy magazine, Hugh Hefner, for $75,000.
